Patient Records in the Digital AgePatient Records in the Digital Age
When it comes to paperwork, there’s very little of it at Lakeside Medical Center. We’re computerized from top to bottom, including electronic patient charts and bedside bar code scanning systems that help to ensure medications are administered safely and accurately.

Instant access to patient information helps us provide more effective treatments for our patients in less time and more cost-effectively.

Patient Satisfaction
Our goal at Glades General Hospital is to provide you with very good care.  A few days after you are discharged, you will receive a Patient Satisfaction Survey in the mail.  This survey is what we use to improve our service and reward and recognize our staff.  We would appreciate it if you would complete the survey and mail it in the enclosed, addressed, postage paid envelope.

Emergency Preparedness
Lakeside Medical Center is built to withstand severe weather conditions. The building has 9” reinforced concrete tilt wall construction and high-impact resistant glass. Two emergency generators will maintain operations and power the air conditioning system in the event of a power outage.  A 3-day supply of domestic water and fuel storage will always be maintained.

The Health Care District, who built and operates Lakeside Medical Center, consulted with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the South Florida Water Management District to understand issues related to the Herbert Hoover dike that might affect Lakeside Medical Center.

The first occupied floor and critical engineering components have been constructed at an elevation significantly higher than even the maximum water height that might possibly occur in the event there was a catastrophic failure of the dike that surrounds Lake Okeechobee.
